assalamualaikum...what's up y'all?
my 2011 has been quite a roller-coaster ride. there were ups and downs, tears and laughter, good and bad moments. a bit of a round up of my 2011 happenings which consist of things that i did/experienced for the first time:
a) I was finally posted to a school in Selangor. which means i am employed! the school is approximately 55km from my parents' house. a brand new school which i was grateful about. aside from the workloads which keep on mounting up, i'm truly blessed with the opportunity given to me. i enjoy the company of all the teachers in the school.although at times, i felt demotivated and stressed out, i managed to go through all the obstacles. i thank all who have been very supportive ( my family, my friends, my colleagues). i am not sure how long i will be in the school but i only hope for the best in the future.
b) I rented a house near my school. this was the first time i rent a house. although i did this during my stay in australia but in malaysia, this was my first time. i had to do everything on my own. searched for the house on the internet, met the owner, moved in, stayed with 2 housemates who are a total stranger to me, got the house an internet connection, pay the utility bills, cooked (occasionally). everything was new and i'm grateful to have experience them which indicate that i'm now a grown-up man. (hey, you're already 24, zaim!).ooppsss..;)
c) i bought a car! the first thing that came to my mind when i got my first paycheck was to get a brand new car. which i did. and i was super excited! but the car had 2 accidents recently which left a big scar on its back. but still, i love my car so much! (p/s i dun have a name for the car ok?)
d) i went to pangkor and cameron highlands! pangkor for a course and cameron highlands with my year 6 pupils for their excursion. my first time going to these two places. pangkor was super fun especially when i got to meet with my fellow college mates. cameron highland was not bad either. both trips came at the right time when i need an escapade.
these were some of the things that i did for my 2011. my first time experience to be exact.
this year has been a meaningful year for me. i hope 2012 will have a lot of fun in store for me.let's hope for the best!

when you say nothing at all
i choose to be silent for a reason. i can be loud if i can. i respect my colleagues who are much senior than me and have a lot of experience. don't simply put forward your imprudent judgment towards me saying i wasn't contributing anything.
"kalau belajar overseas mesti banyak idea.kalau x, kenape kerajaan nk hantar awak ke sana dan awak x cedok idea2 dari sane."
and in the end, what you can do was just smile.

hey! (current updates or should i say updates yg da berkurun lame???)
salam.
waddup? phewww~~~after a long hiatus, hey,i'm back! haha.i know i don't sound that excited but worry not, i will try to update the blog from here onwards. big apology.
and let me start with this,
i'm now a full-fledged teacher! or should i say half-fledged teacher??? since i still have to wait for quite some time before i can declare myself as a qualified teacher. i am currently teaching at a primary school in Sungai Buloh. a new school with 900++ students and 62 teachers and just celebrated its first anniversary on the 1st of July.yeay and a big hooray for the new facilities, equipments but a boo-hoo for the workloadSSSS! since it's a new school, there are a lot of paperwork to do, files to update etc. and since there are fewer male teachers there, a lot of responsibilities are given to me. i have to be in-charge of the timetables, the eMis data, Ketua guru Kelab Bola Baling, Secretary for Pengakap, Penyelaras PPDa and the list goes on. and not to forget, i am the "official" photographer for the school's events. Tetap dan berpencen as the photographer. and i believe more responsibilities are soon to come.
but amidst all the chaotic and topsy turvy situations i encountered, i am blessed for the experiences gained. I thank Allah for the opportunities given to me. I am a true believer of the saying as i loosely translate it " Allah must not test you unless He thinks that you are capable of handling it". and Alhamdulillah, everything went well up to this moment. i am looking forward for the next challange!
those who think that being a teacher is easy, think again! let's swap place for a day! i'm happy for the swap.any takers?????
teaching might be easy but educating is a true challenge. and i also believe, teaching can't be taught, it's a gift! and teachers out there, believe me, you are all GIFTED!
and i still have a long way to go................58-24=34 years!

please remind me....

and ana rafalli won AJL last night with her song "Tolong Ingatkan Aku". i was a bit shock at first hearing the result but after a while, after hearing her song over and over again, it kinda make sense why the judges chose this song as "the song of the year". it was poetic and has a very deep meaning. congrats to ana for winning that night! ( and she got to spend that rm35000 on her own).
for those who want to get to know ana rafalli, you can search for her facebook profile or you can have a look at her blog.
and one more thing, one of the my two favs song was actually in the top 3. congrats hafiz! plus hafiz also won the best vocal performance that night.
p/s i always think that girls who play guitar are hot!

and the winner is...
tonight is the 25th Anugerah Juara Lagu. i'm rooting for these two songs.
i've got my favs.what's yours?
the first
this was the first gig i did with the whole band. first time being on stage. it was a hell lot of fun! please pardon a few glitches on the singing coz i had a very bad sore throat that day. thanks to the band mates (nigel, hisyam, nuar and con).
p/s credit to Ain for uploading this on youtube. it's good to sometime look at yourself performing. maybe this is a stepping stone for a bigger gig in the future...maybe...

2011
sekarang semua orang dah ade azam baru. i have my own new year resoultions as well but i'll keep it to myself first.instead of making a post of my new year's resolution, i want to make a wish list of things that i want for 2011.
1) a brand new car
- still haven't decided which car should i get but it'll definitely a brand new car.
2) a dictionary & grammar books
- as geeky as it sounds, i do need these two things. i need the latest edition of dictionary and some very good grammar books. somehow, i have developed a sense of interest in learning grammar in depth. This is due to my current job which is an assistant at a tuition center who teaches English and i realized that there are may grammar rules which I have forgotten.
3)new shirts and jeans.
- have not yet done my shopping for the past 4 months. i started to get bored with my
wardrobe. same old clothes worn over and over again.
4) perfumeS
- been eyeing on a few perfumes. will definitely get any of them once i get my first paycheck.
5) a Blackberry
- seeing people updating their facebook's status via BB suddenly makes me interested in owning one.
well, there you have it. although there's only 5 of them but definitely it'll require a lot of cash. will definitely start to learn to save up some cash. wish me luck!

the art of teaching....
do i have it?
can i learn to master it?
i'm just too late...too late to post this question to myself.
now i'm doubting myself. yet i try to be positive all the time.
positive zaim, stay positive...

self esteem
salam satu malaysia! ( i sound like one of the tv presenter...)
have u ever encountered a particular person who obviously looks high upon themselves? whatever he or she does has always been the most outstanding thing u've ever witnessed?
i dun blame these people for what they believe in, which is obviously THEMSELVES. i always admire people who have such a high self esteem. i envy them for being able to not think about their weaknesses and always bring forward their strengths. but there's always a limit. self esteem is often misjudged by people as being cocky and arrogant. well, i do believe when you have gone over beyoonnndddd the limit, then people would have misjudged you. so, tone it down.
so to whom it may concern, please be aware of your own actions. i'm not asking you not to love yourself but remember there's always a limit. a limit which you can set by yourselves.
regards,
zaim

hypocrisy
sometimes it's good to be hypocrite. i just choose to be one in certain occasions. i just don't want to get involved in any drama. i'm sick and tired of it. i've had enough.

if only...
hye peeps,
just watched "Oprah Winfrey show". it showcased few of talented children. i was astounded with the amount of talented kids out there and the talents that they have. there's one children who is very talented in tv hosting and she got the chance to interview taylor swift which is her favorite singer ever. there's also one boy who sings like an angel and made goosebumps all over me.
i was very attracted to one of many quotations made by taylor swift. she said and i quote" when you have a dream and something that you really want to do, just go for it and never look back. you'll experience the ups and downs but just cherish every moment of it. at the end of the day, you'll be amazed with what you've achieved and be thankful with all the experience you've gained".
i couldn't agree more. but if only i could turn back time and do what i really wanted to do. if only i could be able to experience the ups and downs and the obstacles in realizing the dreams which i long for. but it's all too late now.
but to be in the positive side, although what i did for these past years has not been one of my dreams to be doing, but i'm very thankful of all the experiences i've gained. i tried my best to make my mind to take this positively and bring all the "good" vibes towards all my actions and behaviors.
just one more year, zaim. be patient.
and all your sacrifices will be worth doing and you'll be one of the best in the profession that you'll be in- a TEACHER that is.
in just one more year, you'll be hearing cute little voices shouting your name out loud, "Good Morning, Sir Zaim". to be honest, can't wait for that time to come.
with that, i do believe that teaching is a profession where you have to be in it to love it. the experiences that somehow hook you up to it.
till then, i'm a great believer of this saying " a great teacher inspires". that's what i'm aiming for. pray for me.
thanks.

ayah, abah, papa, daddy,abi...
salam peeps,
i love kids. period. i love being accompanied by kids all the time regardless of their naughty well being and attitude. i love seeing their faces and the laughter and joy that they portray through their pretty little faces. i love it when they try to get your attention by doing silly things. i love the serenity that you can get when you see their innocent faces. They are are little angels that make your day full of happiness. that's why i choose to teach in a primary school.
i always dream of becoming a father one day. i always try to imagine the day when i first welcome my own baby and the way that i'll teach him or her to be a good person. i want to get the feeling of hearing my child calling "ayah", "abah", "daddy" or "papa" to me. i know that will also come with huge responsibilities but i seriously want to experience the calmness that u can get by hearing your child calling your name. this has always been the topic of discussion among my friends and I. When they started to talk about children, kids, babies etc, i started becoming very attentive and "alive" in the discussion.
i have been mistaken to be having my own kids a lot. there was this one time when i was on a flight to tasmania. there were a mother and her pretty little daughter who were seated in front of me. i started to play with the daughter and suddenly the mother turned around and said " how many kids do you have?". and i was like,"hhhmm, i dun have any kids. i'm still studying." and she replied " you are very good at handling kids. you'll be a great father one day." and at that moment, i was very happy and overwhelmed. at first i was a bit shocked as i thought of maybe my face looked a bit older. but realizing the fact that most people in Australia married and have their own kids at a very young age somehow swept away my negative thought. and the recognition that the mother gave to me was really aspiring and motivational.
can't wait to have my own family. a big happy family. me, my wife, and three little angels. two boys and 1 girl. ;). that's only a plan. it'll all be in God's hand.
adios kudos muchos.

wtf...
salam everyone..
hhmm how ironic to start with a salam when u have a post with a "cursing" title. anyways, just received my flight ticket back to Malaysia from the government. was pretty happy and excited. on the other hand, i was pretty upset and shocked with what i've seen. guess what? my flight ticket back to malaysia costs rm11583!!!! i was extremely shocked when i saw the amount stated in the itinerary. it was ridiculous when u have to pay that amount of money for a one way economy class ticket. even a business class ticket on the same airline to malaysia from brisbane only costs you rm8000 max.
so that means, the government has to pay at least rm300,000 for all 26 of us in brisbane to go back to malaysia. well, how about my fellow colleagues in new zealand and the uk?? how much had the government spent just to get us back to malaysia? yup, i know we should be grateful and blessed with all the sponsorship that we've got. personally, i am grateful and blessed. but thinking of having to pay a huge amount of money when u can get a cheaper deal really frustrates me. let say, if the ticket only costs about rm 4000. so where the hell is the other rm7000++?? into the pocket of some culprit(s) that only think of grabbing the opportunity that they can get to "steal" the money from the government??i don't really get it.
i know i dun have the power to change all of this. i just want to express my dissatisfaction. i know politics have its own good and bad. but sometime i dun really get the idea of having the power to manipulate other people. when u have the power, u should use it wisely. when u have the responsible, u have to do it with honor and respect. u shouldn't neglect it or just do take it for granted.
this is why sometime i do think i dun even make the cut of being in the political arena. i'd rather be at the "background" than be the front runner.
hope politics in malaysia do change for a better future of the nation.
adios kudos.

So come and dance with me,

Gonna make it,(Jai Ho)
I'm ready,

mr remedy's in brisbane...
hi peeps,
i went to jason mraz's concert last tuesday (14/4) at brisbane convention center with a few of my friends (syefah, taqwa,jg,aiman, zul, faddy, sani &ayu). it started at about 7.30 pm and ended at 11pm.it was a hell of experience.first time in my life that i encountered a concert that was so laid back and relaxing. there were 2 guests' performance from a girl name sarah mitchell(i dunno whether i spell the name right) from melbourne and a superb guy by the name of eric hutchinson. the girl opened the concert but i was a bit dissappointed as i coulndn't hear what she was singing. the music was fine but i kept on putting my listening ears to its highest ability just to hear what she was singing.but nevermind.then, eric came. he was totally different to the girl before coz he was very energetic and fun. he's really an entertainer. i enjoyed looking at him working the stage and the crowd on. he interacted and entertained the audience maginificiently. he has attracted me with his music.i'm gonna find his cd later.hehehe.for more info about him and to listen to his songs, just log on to this website. (http://www.erichutchinson.com/). you'll love his songs.trust me.;)
and them mr mraz came to the stage.the crowd went crazy.so as my friend, syefah.it was her dream of going to mr mraz concert.without a doubt, he is a superb entertainer. he didn't look awkward on stage and he was very relaxing and fun to look at. he sang most of the songs from his latest album which i have analyzed and tried to memorize the lyrics for these past few weeks. but i really wanted him to sing his "evergreen" songs like remedy and you and i both love.but anyways, i really enjoyed myself.especially when he started to sing "I'm Yours".i shouted my heart out and sang along with him throughout the song. it was fantabulous!!
